Taylor and Danny’s October wedding at Bellevue Hall was perfection. They are one of those couples that are just obviously full of true love. The way they talk to each other and look at each other, they radiate joy.
On the day of their wedding, their wedding parties were all able to get ready at Bellevue. The bridal suite is FULL of amazing light and colors. The guys enjoyed a few games of pool before having to get ready while the girls went straight into hair and makeup.
Once hair and makeup was done, Taylor’s mom gave her a gift that she thought Taylor might think was “cheesy”. Well, it wasn’t cheesy by any means, and the sentiment brought tears of love to both mom and Taylor.
What was the gift? Her mom kept a journal of Taylor’s whole life. She would write an entry in this journal for every milestone. I can only imagine what is written in this journal. Taylor had never been allowed to see it, and had been curious for years if she would ever get to read it. Well, Taylor’s mom felt that her wedding day was an excellent time to give her the journal. As someone who has kids of my own, I’m emotional just from describing it. It was truly a magical moment and will forever be one of my favorite memories as a wedding photographer.
From there, happy emotions continued all the way around! Taylor had a first look with her brother and her dad, followed by a first look that was witnessed by the wedding party. I loved that Taylor and Danny included their wedding party to be a part of their first look. This isn’t something every couple chooses to do.
For the ceremony, Danny actually hand-built their ceremony arch! He had gotten into woodworking a bit before their wedding and thought it would be neat to have something hand-crafted at the ceremony and I agree!
And, while Taylor and Danny LOVE their dog, they couldn’t bring him to the wedding so after the ceremony they hosted a cocktail hour for their guests with a signature drink named after their sweet pup!
Once cocktail hour was over, it was time for the reception and the party begin! They had all the traditions of a wedding reception. From the first dance to speeches, the night was flawless. When it was time to open the dance floor, it was packed and their guests really knew how to celebrate.
To close out the night, I snuck Taylor and Danny away for a bit so we could take some creative portraits. I’m so glad we allotted time for these because, I may be partial, but I loved how they turned out!
Thank you to Taylor and Danny for letting me capture your wedding day. It was such an honor to share all the magical moments with you from behind the camera lens. Many blessings for years to come for the two of you!
