Senior portrait session at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware

McKenzie and I met pretty early in the morning to beat the sun and the crowds. The University’s Green, Memorial Hall, and water fountain are all very popular spots for senior portraits at the University of Delaware.

We were pretty lucky to be almost by ourselves for most of the session. We began at Memorial Hall and took our time with the large white pillars and stone stairs. Right around the corner is a great spot with brick archways and gardens. There is just so much around this area that it kept us busy for quite a while.

Before moving on to our next location, we knew that we had to spend some time at the water fountain. Unfortunately, the fountain was turned off, but we still made the best of it with some champagne. It’s amazing how many people were walking around with CASES of champagne for their portrait sessions!

McKenzie has been pretty active with the local fire department, Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. We made our way over to Station 9 on Academy Street, right in the heart of the University of Delaware’s campus where one of their engines was available for some portraits!

The University of Delaware is home to some amazing architecture, with almost too many options for senior portraits. We decided one more location was in order, so we made our way over to the University of Delaware’s oldest and most recognized building, Old College. Old College was built around 1833 and is now home to the Old College Gallery. With its amazing designs, we finished our session with some great history, and also a photo of McKenzie when she was much younger!
