Rita and Tristan’s October wedding ceremony took place at Saint Rose of Lima Eddystone with a reception to follow at the Oaks Ballroom. The color palette was perfect for fall with maroons, blush tones, and navy accents. And, since their wedding was the day before Halloween, Rita decided to add very small touches to the reception for a fun Halloween twist.
As the wedding party got ready for the day, they actually exchanged shoes so each other could write a little note on the bottom of the soles. They also exchanged letters since they decided to wait until the ceremony to see one another.
Their traditional Catholic ceremony was led by Father Tom Gardner who is also a good friend of the bride and groom. Tristan saw Rita for the first time walking down the aisle and his reaction was priceless.
Once the ceremony ended, guests made their way to The Oaks Ballroom for a cocktail hour while we took couple portraits and wedding party pictures. We even stumbled upon a little dairy bar named, Rita’s. Of course, we had to get a picture.
One thing unique to Rita and Tristan’s wedding was their guestbook. Instead of a traditional book, they actually had an audio guestbook where guests were able to leave voicemails for them on an old rotary phone. After the wedding, Rita and Tristan would receive all of the audio messages for a lifetime. What a cool concept, right? We are even able to incorporate some of the recordings into their wedding film!
Once cocktail hour was over, Rita and Tristan were formerly introduced once more and shared the first dance to I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. As the evening went on, they shared dances with their family, had their cake cutting, and even found out where they were going on their honeymoon. They hadn’t known until the reception because they had someone actually plan a surprise honeymoon for them. It was just another neat idea that they had for their wedding day.
Rita and Tristan’s goal was for everyone to just enjoy the party. They wanted their wedding to be inviting and a fun atmosphere, which I think they definitely succeeded!
